Patient Observer

Responsibilities

• Provide constant safety observation for patients at risk of injury or interference with their care
• Monitor patients for escalating behavior and maintain a safe environment as directed by the Registered Nurse
• Document patient behavior using appropriate forms and tools
• Obtain necessary care information from the Registered Nurse at the start of each shift
• Accompany patients to the bathroom or for testing as needed
• Demonstrate proficiency with bed alarms and maintain constant visual contact with the patient
• Observe and report changes in patient status or needs to the nursing staff
• Adhere to patient conversation guidelines and maintain professional, courteous conduct

Requirements

• Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to perform safeguarding and protect patient privacy and security
• Knowledge of patient privacy and security protocols
• Ability to maintain a professional and sensitive attitude toward diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the service industry
• Experience in general patient care or healthcare settings
