About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the service experience for patients and ensure optimal use of practice resources
- Manage schedules for providers, rooms, and equipment to maximize efficiency
- Perform schedule maintenance and coordinate care alternatives for impacted patients
- Communicate with patients and clinical staff to ensure compliance with treatment plans
- Assist the Practice Manager with data collection regarding physician productivity
- Facilitate the resolution of billing errors and obtain necessary pre-certifications or referrals
- Register patients and coordinate appointment scheduling
- Provide patient education materials and conduct follow-ups regarding testing and prescriptions
- Maintain strong relationships with patients, providers, staff, and external vendors
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years of previous healthcare experience
- Experience in a customer service role
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
