About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall processing of Radiation Therapy patient clinic visits from registration through follow-up appointments
  • Perform reception duties including scheduling appointments, answering patient queries, and managing high-volume telephone activities
  • Coordinate and facilitate efficient patient flow through various stages of their visit
  • Retrieve patient charts from Health Records and activate patient information in clinical systems
  • Transcribe physician orders and book appointments for necessary tests
  • Manage the ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment setup
  • Maintain compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and adhere to strict patient confidentiality policies

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade XII or a recognized equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer software applications
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment, specifically related to radiation medicine
  • Experience with electronic patient records (including UHN Clinical Desktop applications) and ADT systems
  • Experience with appointment booking systems related to radiation medicine
