Patient Financial Specialist

Responsibilities

• Analyze Home Health & Hospice medical records to ensure supporting billing documentation is in place
• Ensure certification periods are met and clinical documentation meets industry and Medicare guidelines
• Review documentation and apply appropriate codes for billing
• Obtain insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Monitor and resolve daily billing errors and A/R
• Participate in creating and implementing standard work for document verification and chart audits
• Provide patient scheduling for field clinicians

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of patient account billing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• AA or Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in medical billing with commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid
• Experience in a medical records environment
• Experience with medical office scheduling, high volume phone systems, and medical transcription
• Experience in home health and hospice coding and billing
• Certified Coder
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
