About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise Patient Financial Services staff in daily operations of billing, cash posting, and collections within a hospital revenue cycle environment.
- Lead and train team members to ensure high performance, productivity, and adherence to departmental goals.
- Drive cash and AR account resolution by working with all payers for escalation and reimbursement variance management.
- Ensure accuracy of CPT4, HCPCS, and Revenue Codes and provide updates on Medicare and other payer coverage changes.
- Identify and resolve problems in the patient accounts receivable process, including payer issues, underpayments, and denials.
- Review and approve credit arrangements, refunds, write-offs, and adjustments in accordance with policy.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including weekly Key Indicator Reports and billing scrubber reports.
- Ensure compliance with State, Federal, HIPAA, and JACHO requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (relevant experience may be substituted for formal education).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in healthcare, business, or professional settings.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in people management.
- Strong AR acumen and ability to make quick, informed decisions.

- Solid understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle.
- Demonstrated competency in working within teams and communicating effectively across all organizational levels.
