About the role
Responsibilities
- Screen patients on-site at medical facilities (bedside or ER) to identify eligibility for State, County, and Federal assistance programs.
- Initiate the application process for patients and assist with enrollment to appropriate agencies.
- Review hospital census and referral methods to identify self-pay patients.
- Document all screening results in the onsite tracking tool and hospital computer systems.
- Maintain positive working relationships with hospital staff across all departments.
- Conduct outside field work, including patient home visits, as required to screen for program eligibility.
- Provide necessary information and progress reports to client contacts.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Availability to work the Saturday–Tuesday shift (10:00 am – 8:30 pm).
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in medical coding, medical billing, or eligibility assistance.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Experience working within a hospital or government assistance framework.
