About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated non-clinical support to inpatients during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Conduct scheduled comfort rounds to address environmental needs such as lighting, temperature, and room setup
- Triage patient requests to distinguish between non-clinical comfort needs and clinical concerns, escalating medical issues immediately to nursing staff
- Act as an after-hours liaison between patients, families, and hospital departments including Environmental Services, Dietary, Maintenance, and Security
- Document all service coordination activities and maintain detailed service logs for daytime handoffs
- Manage non-clinical inquiries via phone and assist families with visiting guidelines, amenities, and lodging information
- Support logistical coordination for emergency department arrivals and hospital transfers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-5 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to remain calm in a hospital environment and work independently during overnight shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare hospitality, concierge, or patient-facing roles
- Familiarity with hospital operations
- Experience working with diverse populations
