Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Transfer instruments, instrument carts, or implants between the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) and the Operating Room (OR)
• Deliver necessary instrumentation and related items upon request from CSPD or OR staff
• Organize and store sterile instruments on shelves within the OR area
• Move and deliver carts, bins, and racks of used instruments and replace them with new carts
• Assist in the operation of the instrument lift and load/unload the cart washer
• Perform minor cleaning duties, including wiping down surfaces and organizing work areas
• Monitor various areas and offices to ensure instrument trays are restocked and ready for use
• Retrieve minor items as requested by clinical staff

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform pushing/pulling tasks
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for long periods
• Ability to work flexible shifts in a busy clinical environment
• Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work independently
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and clinical staff
