About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and coordination of divisional patient care services within a high-volume clinic environment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Verify patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance coverage.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
  • Facilitate business processes such as appointment scheduling, check-in/out, and telephone triage.
  • Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks, including preparing patient files and arranging follow-up services.
  • Escort patients and visitors to different areas as needed, including those requiring wheelchair assistance.
  • Monitor waiting areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and families.
  • Communicate appointment changes, test results, or instructions to patients clearly and promptly.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a customer service setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a direct customer service setting involving face-to-face or telephone patient interaction.
  • Working knowledge of MiChart (Cadence and EpicCare).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook and Teams).
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.
