Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine treatment procedures and monitor patient conditions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with patient mobility tasks, including bed mobility, transfers, and functional mobility skills on an adult Orthopaedic floor.
• Instruct patients in therapeutic activities, ambulation, and the use of home exercise programs and equipment.
• Observe, report, and document patient progress and treatment according to established protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and prepare the room environment and necessary equipment.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Occupational and Physical Therapists, to support patient care.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training.
• Physical ability to perform a wide range of activities, including walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and positioning patients and equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of work experience as a Patient Care Technician or Rehabilitation Technician.
• Background as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
