Patient Care Technician - PCT

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required machine safety checks
• Monitor patient response to therapy, including evaluating vascular access and performing cannulation
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and other necessary clinical data
• Assist in providing patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment, including disinfecting equipment between treatments
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Document all treatment parameters and patient information accurately in clinical applications

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing for prolonged periods
• Ability to pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility
