Patient Care Technician - PCT

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and equipment
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access for patency
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report significant changes to the registered nurse
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting machines and surrounding areas
• Assist in collecting laboratory specimens and preparing them for testing
• Document all treatment data and patient information accurately in clinical applications

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing and bending
• Ability to pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
• No previous dialysis experience is required as on-the-job training is provided
