Patient Care Technician - PCT

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and equipment
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access for patency
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weights, and treatment parameters
• Administer Heparin as delegated or allowed by state law
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report any unusual findings or changes in condition to the nurse supervisor
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting machines, chairs, and surrounding areas
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation and treatment data entry

Requirements

• CMS-approved certification or a High school diploma/GED
• Must meet all applicable state certification and licensure requirements
• Successful completion of CPR certification
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility
