Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated clinical or laboratory procedures and monitor patient status
• Record and document vital signs and assist with patient admission and discharge
• Monitor, set up, and maintain the operations of clinical equipment
• Transport patients to and from designated locations
• Assist in preparing the PACU by setting up, stocking, cleaning, and organizing supplies
• Demonstrate appropriate infection control and universal precautions
• Obtain and deliver supplies and equipment from other departments
• Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system

Requirements

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to stand and walk moderately throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent PACU or OR experience
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
• Current nursing student
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in patient care activities
