About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform delegated clinical or laboratory procedures and monitor patient status
- Record and document vital signs and assist with patient admission and discharge
- Monitor, set up, and maintain the operations of clinical equipment
- Transport patients to and from designated locations
- Assist in preparing the PACU by setting up, stocking, cleaning, and organizing supplies
- Demonstrate appropriate infection control and universal precautions
- Obtain and deliver supplies and equipment from other departments
- Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system
Requirements
- High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to stand and walk moderately throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent PACU or OR experience
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
- Current nursing student
- Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in patient care activities
