About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and technical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Obtain and record vital signs, including temperature, weight, oxygen saturation, and pain scores
- Perform specimen collection, including blood, urine, stool, and sputum
- Assist with clinical procedures, wound care, and dressing changes
- Support patient activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and respond to physiologic monitor alarms and patient call lights
- Maintain and stock supplies and equipment in patient care spaces
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Knowledge of laboratory or patient care methods
- Ability to perform moderate standing, walking, lifting, and patient positioning
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant program
- Experience in a skilled long-term care facility or acute care hospital
- Enrollment in a nursing program with completed fundamentals of nursing coursework
- Basic computer skills and coursework in an Allied Health field
