About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform routine treatment procedures and monitor vital signs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients with mobility, including bed mobility, transfers, and functional mobility skills on an adult Orthopaedic floor.
- Instruct patients in therapeutic activities, ambulation, and the use of home exercise programs and equipment.
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions and document treatment and progress accurately.
- Prepare room environments and equipment, and assist with multidisciplinary communication.
- Support nursing and therapy teams by coaching patients on precautions and proper equipment use.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training.
- Physical ability to perform a wide range of activities, including walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and positioning patients and equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of work experience as a Patient Care Technician or Rehabilitation Technician.
- Background as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
