About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine treatment procedures and monitor vital signs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist patients with mobility, including bed mobility, transfers, and functional mobility skills on an adult Orthopaedic floor.
  • Instruct patients in therapeutic activities, ambulation, and the use of home exercise programs and equipment.
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions and document treatment and progress accurately.
  • Prepare room environments and equipment, and assist with multidisciplinary communication.
  • Support nursing and therapy teams by coaching patients on precautions and proper equipment use.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training.
  • Physical ability to perform a wide range of activities, including walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and positioning patients and equipment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of work experience as a Patient Care Technician or Rehabilitation Technician.
  • Background as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
