Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required machine safety checks
• Monitor patient response to therapy, including evaluating vascular access and performing cannulation
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters
• Document accurate and timely information in clinical applications and treatment sheets
• Maintain a safe, clean, and disinfected working environment in accordance with infection control policies
• Assist in collecting laboratory specimens and preparing them for transport
• Support patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, standing for prolonged periods, and bending

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility
