Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective home dialysis therapy and training for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Reinforce home hemodialysis (HHD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) training as permitted by law.
• Obtain patient vital signs, weights, and gather necessary information for clinic visits.
• Assist with the setup, programming, testing, and disinfection of dialysis equipment.
• Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and machine data during treatments.
• Prepare supplies for laboratory testing and manage the shipping of specimens.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including disinfecting machines and treatment rooms.
• Support patient registration, appointment scheduling, and inventory management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to travel between assigned facilities and various community locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility.
