Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required safety checks
• Monitor patient vital signs, weight, and response to treatment before, during, and after sessions
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation as permitted by state law
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting equipment and treatment areas
• Document accurate and timely treatment data, including vital signs and machine parameters
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Assist in patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to obtain CMS-approved state or national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing for prolonged periods
• Commitment to following infection control policies and safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
• Experience as a Nursing Assistant, CNA, or Phlebotomist
