Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and perform safety checks on hemodialysis machines
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation
• Monitor patient vital signs, weight, and response to treatment before, during, and after dialysis
• Calculate and enter individual patient dialysis machine programming, including Ultrafiltration (UF) goals
• Document accurate and timely treatment data, progress notes, and vital signs in clinical applications
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting equipment and treatment areas
• Assist in patient education regarding disease processes and adequacy measures

Requirements

• Active hemodialysis certification (CCHT or CHT)
• Minimum of 2 years of dialysis experience
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related healthcare facility
