Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Empower, engage, and train dialysis patients on peritoneal and home hemodialysis using state-of-the-art programs and equipment
• Function as an onsite Patient Educator and Case Manager within a clinic and home setting
• Reinforce home hemodialysis (HHD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) training and troubleshoot machinery or connectivity issues
• Obtain patient vital signs, weights, and clinical information to complete intake forms
• Assist with the setup, programming, and disinfection of dialysis machines and equipment
• Prepare supplies for laboratory testing and manage the shipping of transplant-related specimens
• Maintain clean and safe working environments, including disinfecting dialysis chairs, tables, and treatment rooms
• Coordinate patient appointments and assist care partners with supply inventory management

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification
• CCHT certification
• CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility
