Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required machine safety checks
• Monitor patient response to therapy, including evaluating vascular access and obtaining vital signs
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments according to prescribed orders and established procedures
• Document accurate and timely information regarding patient treatment, vital signs, and machine parameters
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by disinfecting equipment and surrounding areas
• Assist in collecting laboratory specimens and preparing them for testing
• Support infection control practices and participate in quality improvement activities

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, and moving of patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility
