Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required machine safety checks
• Monitor patient response to therapy, including evaluating vascular access and performing cannulation
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weights, and other necessary clinical data
• Assist in patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting equipment and treatment areas
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing according to specifications
• Document all treatment parameters and patient information accurately in clinical applications

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with patient movement
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform bending/reaching tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
