About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
  • Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required safety checks
  • Monitor patient vital signs, weight, and response to treatment
  • Evaluate vascular access, perform cannulation, and administer heparin as permitted by law
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including disinfecting equipment and treatment areas
  • Document accurate and timely treatment data, vital signs, and patient progress notes
  • Assist in patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to obtain CMS-approved state or national certification within required timelines
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, moving patients, and prolonged standing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
