Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and equipment
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access for patency
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report significant changes to the registered nurse
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by disinfecting machines and treatment areas
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of all treatment data and progress notes

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved certification (or ability to meet requirements within the required timeline)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
