Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and equipment
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access for patency
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report significant changes to the registered nurse
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, including disinfecting equipment between treatments
• Assist with patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• CMS-approved state or national certification (or ability to meet requirements within required timelines)
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service standards and organizational values
