Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and disinfect dialysis machines and surrounding equipment
• Monitor patient vital signs, weight, and response to treatment, reporting any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor
• Perform vascular access evaluation and cannulation
• Assist in patient education regarding disease processes and adequacy measures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
• Accurately document treatment parameters, vital signs, and patient progress in clinical applications
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing

Requirements

• CMS-approved certification or a High school diploma/GED
• Successful completion of CPR certification
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test
• Compliance with all state licensure, education, and training requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility
