Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access for patency
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report significant changes to the nursing staff
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, including disinfecting equipment between treatments
• Assist with laboratory specimen collection, labeling, and preparation
• Document all treatment data and patient information accurately in clinical applications

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to obtain CMS-approved certification within the required timeline
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing for prolonged periods
• Commitment to following infection control policies and safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
