Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and maintain hemodialysis machines and equipment
• Monitor patient vital signs, weight, and response to treatment
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access patency
• Document accurate and timely treatment data and patient progress notes
• Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, including disinfecting equipment between treatments
• Assist in patient education regarding disease processes and treatment adequacy

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to obtain CMS-approved state or national certification within required timelines
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
• Experience as an STNA, Phlebotomist, or EMT
