Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines and ensure safety alarms are enabled
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation and heparin administration
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weights, and treatment parameters
• Monitor patient response to therapy and intervene according to physician orders
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting equipment and treatment areas
• Document all treatment data and patient information accurately in clinical applications

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Dialysis certification
• Recent dialysis experience
• CPR certification
• CMS-approved state or national certification
