Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse
• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines and perform required machine safety checks
• Monitor patient vital signs, weight, and response to therapy, reporting any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor
• Perform vascular access evaluation and cannulation
• Administer Heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by disinfecting equipment and treatment areas
• Document accurate and timely treatment data, including vital signs and machine programming
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing

Requirements

• CMS-approved certification or a High school diploma/GED
• Must meet all applicable state certification requirements
• Successful completion of CPR certification
• Ability to pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related healthcare facility
