Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective home dialysis therapy and training for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Reinforce home hemodialysis (HHD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) training as permitted by law
• Assist with the setup, programming, testing, and disinfection of dialysis equipment
• Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and machine data during treatments
• Prepare supplies for laboratory testing and manage the shipping of specimens
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including disinfecting machines and treatment rooms
• Coordinate patient appointments and assist with supply/inventory management
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with exit site care as directed

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, and moving of patients

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of previous patient care experience in a hospital or related healthcare facility
