About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and technical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, weight, oxygen saturation, and pain scores
- Perform specimen collection, including blood, urine, stool, and sputum
- Assist with clinical procedures, wound care, and dressing changes
- Support patient activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, feeding, and mobility
- Maintain and set up specialized clinical equipment and patient care spaces
- Document all care provided and report abnormal patient values to the nursing staff
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One of the following: 6 months of acute care experience, enrollment in a nursing program, 1 year of rehab facility experience, or completion of a CNA program
- Physical ability to move, transport, and position patients and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program
- Basic computer skills
- Coursework in an Allied Health field
