Patient Care Tech

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and technical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Obtain and monitor vital signs, including temperature, weight, oxygen saturation, and pain scores
• Perform specimen collection, including blood, urine, stool, and sputum
• Assist with patient activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, feeding, and mobility
• Perform technical tasks including ECGs, wound care, and simple dressing changes
• Assist with clinical procedures, admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Maintain a clean and organized patient environment and stock necessary medical supplies
• Document all care provided and report abnormal patient values to the RN

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• One of the following: 6 months of experience in skilled long-term or acute care, enrollment in a nursing program with completed fundamentals, 1 year of short-term care experience, or completion of a CNA program
• Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including moving, transporting, and positioning patients and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program
• Basic computer skills
• Coursework in an Allied Health field
