Patient Care Specialist

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified patients with enrollment in discount programs and SC Thrive benefits
• Determine patient eligibility for financial assistance and in-house sliding fee scales
• Facilitate access to outside financial assistance by interviewing patients and procuring necessary documentation
• Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming patients, vendors, and community partners
• Manage patient registration processes using practice management software and kiosks
• Review and update patient demographics and verify financial coverage
• Coordinate with in-house case managers to facilitate applications to outside agencies
• Educate patients on facility intake policies, procedures, and available program options
• Maintain a clean and organized front facility, including waiting rooms and office areas
• Route calls and engage effectively with patients, vendors, and community stakeholders

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual language skills
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role
