About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for new oncology patients to coordinate appointments and referrals for testing, imaging, and specialized services.
- Guide patients and caregivers through the healthcare system, providing education regarding care plans and ensuring access to appropriate services.
- Manage administrative tasks including obtaining prior authorizations, medical records, and specimens, and following up on test results.
- Prepare FMLA and disability paperwork and complete screening assessments as directed by the Nurse Navigator.
- Document all patient interactions, referrals, and linkage to care services within the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with hospital staff, clinicians, and community partners to facilitate seamless care coordination.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a high-volume, complex healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and medical software.
- Strong telephone and personal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Compassionate listening skills and a high commitment to customer service.
