Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and answer telephones in a friendly, professional manner
• Schedule appointments to optimize provider time and treatment room utilization
• Manage patient flow by notifying providers of arrivals and service delays
• Facilitate appointment reminders and order pickup notifications
• Record financial information, collect patient charges, and manage third-party claims
• Determine medical and vision insurance eligibility based on patient coverage
• Maintain office inventory and equipment by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies
• Protect patient confidentiality and rights in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment for all team members and patients

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2+ years of office experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and listening abilities
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) and patient record systems
• Basic knowledge of vision insurance plans and optical products
• Experience with office operations in an optometric or ophthalmic setting
