Patient Care Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and secure necessary signatures for required documentation.
• Obtain and verify insurance and demographic information while managing collection attempts.
• Facilitate patient care coordination between primary, specialty, and ancillary services.
• Manage patient intake, including creating and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Process and route incoming calls, requests, and departmental inquiries.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments and manage daily reports.
• Support a patient-centered medical home by providing compassionate customer service.
• Handle distribution of mail, faxes, and electronic communications.

Requirements

• High School degree or GED required.
• Proven experience in customer service.
• Knowledge of medical office operations, including scheduling, registration, and electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass an annual registration competency exam.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with billing, coding, referrals, and authorizations.
• Knowledge of payer guidelines and regulatory compliance standards.
