Patient Care Associate

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake, collect medical histories, and update demographics in the electronic health record
• Provide accurate, non-judgmental sexual and reproductive health education to patients
• Manage front desk operations, including greeting visitors, insurance verification, and managing walk-ins
• Handle scheduling, phone triage, and appointment management
• Process payments, collect co-pays, and assist patients with insurance eligibility applications
• Perform laboratory tests, package labs for transport, and maintain quality assurance protocols
• Assist in clinical services, including abortion counseling and surgical room support as needed
• Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming environment in waiting and clinical areas

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High degree of comfort working with electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Commitment to bodily autonomy, health equity, and racial justice

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or high-volume customer service role
• Proficiency in languages other than English
• Prior experience working with electronic health records
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid State of New York Driver’s license
