About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, collect medical histories, and update demographics in the electronic health record
- Provide accurate, non-judgmental sexual and reproductive health education to patients
- Manage front desk operations, including greeting visitors, insurance verification, and managing walk-ins
- Handle scheduling, phone triage, and appointment management
- Process payments, collect co-pays, and assist patients with insurance eligibility applications
- Perform laboratory tests, package labs for transport, and maintain quality assurance protocols
- Assist in clinical services, including abortion counseling and surgical room support as needed
- Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming environment in waiting and clinical areas
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of comfort working with electronic health records (EHR)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Commitment to bodily autonomy, health equity, and racial justice
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or high-volume customer service role
- Proficiency in languages other than English
- Prior experience working with electronic health records
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid State of New York Driver’s license
