About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage patient intake, including greeting visitors, collecting demographic/billing information, and verifying insurance.
- Maintain and update patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Perform clinical duties such as reviewing patient medical histories and documenting findings accurately.
- Provide patient education regarding sexual and reproductive health, family planning, and general wellness in a non-judgmental manner.
- Handle administrative tasks including phone triage, appointment scheduling, and processing payments/co-pays.
- Assist with laboratory activities, including performing ordered tests, packaging labs for transport, and maintaining quality assurance protocols.
- Support clinical operations by assisting in abortion services, including counseling and surgical room assistance as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or high-volume customer service role.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Prior experience working with Planned Parenthood.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid State of New York Driver’s license.
