Patient Care Associate

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intake, including greeting visitors, collecting demographic/billing information, and verifying insurance.
• Perform clinical duties such as reviewing patient medical histories, documenting findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and assisting with laboratory tests.
• Provide accurate, non-judgmental sexual and reproductive health education to patients.
• Handle front desk operations including phone triage, appointment scheduling, and managing walk-in clients.
• Support billing and revenue cycle tasks by collecting co-pays, processing payments, and reconciling deposits.
• Assist in clinical services including abortion counseling and surgical room support as needed.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming environment in waiting areas and clinical spaces.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or high-volume customer service role.
• Proficiency in multiple languages.
• Prior employment with Planned Parenthood.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid State of New York Driver’s license.
