Patient Care Assistant (PCA) - Float

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with the completion of patient care activities, tailored to the patient's developmental level
• Measure and record vital signs, as well as intake and output
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide safe transportation and maintain a safe environment for patients
• Communicate effectively with the care team and report patient information as indicated
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with hospital policy
• Act as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing needs of the hospital census

Requirements

• High School Diploma (HSD) or GED required
• PCA training, PCA experience, or active enrollment in a healthcare-related education program required
• Must obtain CPR certification within 2 weeks of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of STNA experience in a hospital setting
