Patient Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with the completion of patient care activities tailored to pediatric developmental levels
• Measure and record vital signs, intake, and output
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Provide safe transportation and maintain a secure environment for patients
• Communicate effectively with the clinical team and report patient information as indicated
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards
• Support both clinical and clerical aspects of the department through cross-training

Requirements

• High School Diploma (HSD) or GED
• Previous PCA training, PCA experience, or active enrollment in a health care education program
• Ability to obtain CPR certification within 2 weeks of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of STNA experience in a hospital setting
• Existing CPR certification at the time of hire
