Patient Admitting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and maintain compliance with departmental benchmark guidelines.
• Verify and update patient information, including insurance eligibility and benefit coverage.
• Identify and collect co-pays, deductibles, and other necessary payments.
• Ensure all required paperwork, including HIPAA regulations and patient signatures, is completed.
• Request and scan insurance cards and other necessary forms of identification.
• Maintain a registration error accuracy rate of 97% or higher.
• Provide accurate cash quotes to self-pay patients and assist with scheduling when necessary.
• Create a welcoming and empathetic environment for all patients and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or higher level degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to operate general office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle difficult or stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
• Prior experience in a customer service role.
• Basic knowledge of insurance eligibility and medical billing processes.
