Patient Account Representative

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve patient accounts
• Perform account reviews and utilize EOB knowledge to assist with insurance verifications and policy statuses
• Research and respond to patient inquiries received via telephone and mail
• Update patient demographic information and initiate necessary account adjustments
• Complete all business-related requests, correspondence, and assigned projects in a timely manner
• Communicate areas of concern or potential improvements to Guidehouse management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (or 3 years of relevant equivalent experience)
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, business, finance, or customer service
• Working knowledge of insurance claims, billing, coding, or related financial responsibilities
• Proficiency in Windows environments and desktop applications including Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience specifically in a healthcare or customer service setting
• Bilingual Spanish skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow through on projects
