About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients in person to provide a positive initial experience
- Collect and enter accurate demographic and insurance information into electronic medical records
- Complete the registration process by interviewing patients and obtaining necessary signatures
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, interpreting results for complex billing situations
- Resolve claim issues and registration errors within assigned work queues
- Collect patient financial obligations and explain cost information clearly
- Provide technical or functional direction to other employees and assist in training new staff
- Handle inbound and outbound telephone calls with high-quality customer service
- Identify and escalate site activity trends to leadership
Requirements
- 2+ years of customer service experience (healthcare, retail, food service, banking, or call center)
- 1+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience (registration, scheduling, billing, or insurance verification)
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work Monday - Friday from 4:45am - 1:15pm
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Epic electronic medical records
- General experience with electronic medical record systems
