About the role

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally to set a positive tone for their visit
  • Collect, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Prioritize patient registrations based on clinic workflow and acuity
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits using specialized software
  • Explain out-of-pocket costs clearly and process payments according to policy
  • Identify self-pay patients and refer them to financial counseling when necessary
  • Maintain working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare registration or scheduling
  • Experience with insurance verification, billing, or financial clearance
  • Background in medical assisting
