About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and patients in person, via telephone, or video conferencing
- Enter and update patient demographic and financial information
- Obtain appropriate applications and forms and confirm signatures
- Provide patients with financial responsibility information and collect liabilities
- Balance the cash box daily
- Coordinate with Financial Counseling, Scheduling, and clinical departments
- Provide wayfinding instructions and hospital information
- Coordinate patient admission needs and bed assignments
- Meet or exceed audit accuracy standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6+ months of customer service experience in an office or healthcare setting
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work a 36-hour per week rotating schedule
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience in a medical office or hospital admitting/registration office
- Knowledge of medical terminology
