About the role

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and patients in person, via telephone, or through video conferencing with excellent customer service.
  • Enter and update patient demographic and financial information to ensure accurate registration.
  • Obtain, scan, and organize necessary patient applications and forms.
  • Provide patients with financial responsibility information and collect patient liabilities.
  • Balance the cash box daily and document all transactions accurately.
  • Coordinate with departments such as Financial Counseling, Scheduling, and Clinical areas to complete patient encounters.
  • Assist with wayfinding instructions and hospital information for patients and guests.
  • Manage patient admission needs, including bed assignments and tracking boards where applicable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6+ months of customer service experience in an office or healthcare setting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week on a specific rotating schedule.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or hospital admitting/registration environment.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
