About the role
Responsibilities
- Support patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways for Amgen therapies
- Serve as a resource for infused and specialty therapies, addressing prior authorization requirements and denied claims
- Educate physician offices and sites of care on coding, billing, and reimbursement processes
- Develop relationships with patients and caregivers to assess needs and provide information on financial assistance programs
- Partner with internal teams including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management to support the patient journey
- Investigate and resolve access challenges to ensure timely and sustained access to therapy
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FDA regulations, and company policies
Requirements
- Doctorate degree OR Master's with 2 years experience OR Bachelor's with 4 years experience OR Associate's with 8 years experience OR High school with 10 years experience in patient services or reimbursement
- Experience with buy-and-bill or infused therapies
- Knowledge of reimbursement, prior authorization, and denied claims management
- Understanding of HIPAA and FDA regulations
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight and weekend commitments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rare disease or orphan drug therapeutic areas
- Clinical background such as nursing or allied health
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, and AI-related systems
- Experience working effectively within cross-functional field teams
